Postpartum doula
Care for the mother, after birth too.
The birth of a baby also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the mother.
From summer 2027, Mothers & Moon will offer postpartum support: warm, personal care during the fourth trimester.
A new offering that is currently being prepared with care.
Because mothers deserve care too
The birth of a baby brings enormous change. While attention naturally turns to the new arrival, the mother begins a period of recovery, adjustment and finding her way again.
The first months after birth are often called the fourth trimester. Your body is recovering, you are getting to know your baby, broken nights become part of everyday life, and your new role as a mother is growing too.
Yet we often expect women to find their feet quickly and keep going, when this time deserves so much gentleness, patience and support.
Postpartum care begins with a simple idea: the mother deserves to feel supported too.
What is a postpartum doula?
Practical, emotional and informational support during the time after birth.
A postpartum doula stands beside a mother and her family during the early days after birth. As a familiar, supportive presence rather than a medical care provider, she makes room for recovery, questions and the major changes that come with early motherhood.
Support can take different forms: a listening ear, practical help, information, attention to rest and recovery, or simply someone beside you while you find your way in this new reality.
What postpartum care at Mothers & Moon will include is still taking shape. My training and the experience I gain will help shape how I offer this support from 2027.
One thing is already clear: the mother is at the centre of this care, alongside the baby.
An offering in development
Postpartum care at Mothers & Moon
My postpartum doula offering is still in development.
In January 2027, I begin my postpartum doula training with Birthwise, guided by Marjan De Jong, an international expert in postpartum care.
I am deliberately taking time to learn, deepen my understanding and gain experience before deciding exactly what postpartum care at Mothers & Moon will look like.
That is why you will not yet find fixed packages, prices or a detailed service outline here. These will take shape once I have completed my training and know which approach truly fits Mothers & Moon.
The intention is already clear: to make room for life after birth, with care for the mother who is also being born during this time.
Expected from summer 2027.
