Clear information about cookies and similar technologies

Mothers & Moon aims to handle your privacy clearly and carefully. This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar technologies may be used on www.mothersandmoon.be, why they are used and how you can manage your choices.

Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent because the website cannot otherwise function safely or correctly. Analytics and other non-essential cookies are activated only after you have made a free and informed choice through the cookie banner.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small data files stored or read in or through your browser when you visit a website. The website may also use similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage, pixels and tags. These technologies may contain information about your browser, device, session, preferences and use of the website. Depending on their content and use, this may constitute personal data.

3. Which categories do we use?

Depending on the page visited and the features activated, the website uses or may use the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: for security, basic functionality, forms and remembering your cookie preferences.

  • Analytics and performance cookies: to understand visitor numbers, traffic sources and page usage, and to improve the website.

  • External services and form technologies: for newsletter subscriptions, spam prevention and other embedded features.

4. Legal basis and consent

For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on the need to make the website you requested function safely and correctly and, where applicable, on our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website. Your prior consent is the legal basis for analytics, performance and other non-essential cookies.

You can reject all non-essential cookies without ordinary access to the website being blocked. You can later withdraw or change your consent just as easily through ‘Manage cookies’ at the bottom of the website. Withdrawal applies to the future and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

5. Overview of cookies and technologies

6. Who receives data?

To operate the website and for the purposes described above, data may be processed by:

  • Squarespace Ireland Limited and affiliated Squarespace entities, for hosting, security and website analytics;

  • Google Ireland Limited and affiliated Google entities, for Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA;

  • MailerLite Limited or the contracting MailerLite entity, for the newsletter subscription form.

These service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where necessary, this is based on an adequacy decision, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, supplemented by appropriate safeguards. Further information is available in the privacy policy of the provider concerned.

7. Retention periods

The duration of each cookie is stated in the overviews above. Data processed in analytics systems after cookies have been read may be retained for longer in accordance with the settings and legal obligations of Mothers & Moon and the provider concerned. They are not retained longer than necessary for the stated purpose.

Your cookie preference is generally remembered for a maximum of 30 days, after which the banner may appear again.

8. Managing your choices

You can:

  • accept or reject all non-essential cookies through the cookie banner;

  • adjust your preferences by category through ‘Manage cookies’;

  • withdraw your consent later through the permanent cookie settings on the website;

Mothers & Moon does not make decisions based solely on automated processing of cookie data that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
